I’ve been doing great on my Blazing Saddles cross stitch project. So well, in fact, that I’ll post two updates in one! First up:
The above photo shows 15 words complete. The white in “snipers” and “Mexican bandits” is showing up well in this photo, but I’ll have to outline them in a bit of black to make them show up a bit better in person. I’m liking the darker outline on “ass-kickers” than the lighter shade from my previous update. I’ve also decided that I’ll complete the outlining after all of the cross stitch is done.
Skip ahead a week or two and…
Dang, I’m loving this project! 21 words done, and the light is starting to shine at the end of the tunnel! The cross stitch on the top three rows is done, and at I’m least halfway on the last two rows. I love to see progress, even if it’s just a couple letters every evening. When complete all the stitching, I’ll post more detailed images of some of the more interesting designs.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the source of this quote, it’s from the brilliantly funny and risqué movie Blazing Saddles, directed by Mel Brooks. Visit my first post on this project for more information about the movie and a link to the clip with this quote. It’s a genius scene.
