I’d like to share the story of a successful cross stitch alphabet customer project!
I created the Alphabet Mick pattern to emulate a William Morris alphabet for my monster Ancora Imparo project [latest update here]. Before I started Ancora Imparo, however, I created the Rock On project for a new baby in my family named Mick (thus I named the alphabet after the little dude).
Alphabet Mick is big – the letter “o” is 20 stitches wide and 60 stitches high. Because of it’s size, it has lots of lovely details and looks fantastic both up close and from a distance. I did create a smaller version, Alphabet Ozzie, when Mick’s baby brother arrived. It has the same proportions and shapes, but the letter “o” is a smaller 13 stitches wide by 40 stitches high.
In mid-September, a gentleman named Mike purchased the Alphabet Mick pattern. Recently, I followed up with him to ask if he had any questions or feedback on the alphabet, and he sent me this photo of his terrific project!
He said he works at a store that sells the frame. He went looking on Etsy to find an alphabet that would work and found my pattern. He stitched the letters in 18 count fabric and they fit perfectly into the 4″ x 6″ frames. He also completed this project at warp speed – just a couple of weeks. Well done, Mike! And a big thanks for sharing with us…
