These Fuck Cancer cross stitch patterns are now available in my Etsy shop! First up is the French version:
“Merde Au Cancer” is actually more of a scatalogical phrase, but that’s the more common equivalent sentiment in many languages. As I don’t know much French, I did a little research on the web and found a Reddit thread that discussed options.
Next is the German version:

And lastly the Italian version:

This series originated with my Hebrew version, made for a friend who successfully beat pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago:

While there are lots of other cool “fuck cancer” cross stitch patterns, I wanted to make something more subtle especially if there’s young kids around the house. My friend is of Jewish heritage, so I thought a project in Hebrew would do the trick. This way, when the grandkids ask what the project reads, our friends can say something like “it’s a Hebrew benediction” with a smile on their face. Once I did the Hebrew version, it seemed natural to do versions in other languages as well!
Of course, the colors for these projects can be modified for any cancer ribbon colors. The French version is stitched in the dark blues for colon and rectal cancer, using ThreadworX 1025 and DMC 809. The German version is in pinks for breast cancer, using ThreadworX 11000 and DMC 605. The Italian version is in the teals for ovarian cancer and features ThreadworX 1058 and ThreadworX 10090. The Hebrew version is in the purples for pancreatic cancer and uses ThreadworX 11582 and ThreadworX 1128.
I used the darker colors to emphasize the “F” part of the message, while I used the lighter colors to de-emphasize the words for cancer. The border pattern for all of these designs is a repeating stylized insolent finger in the darker color augmented with some backstitching in the lighter color.
