This Mad as Hell cross stitch pattern is now available in my Etsy shop:
This pattern is inspired by the quote from the movie Network: “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore.” Surrounding the quote is a heap of possible actions like vote, volunteer, donate, call, organize, demonstrate, boycott, and more. Of course, this list does not include violence! Instead, it emphasizes those things that, as the great leader John Lewis said, are “good trouble.”
Politics are a mess and I find the whole process overwhelming. The question “where do I even start?” was running around in my head. This project helped me organize my thoughts and encourages me to take the small steps necessary to help create positive change.
Some of my other patterns speak to the same ideas. For example, I hope my Suffragette pattern inspires us to demand action from ourselves, others, and our elected officials,
while my Be the Change pattern urges us to “Stop waiting for others to change things and be the hero you’ve been waiting for.”
As with my any of these patterns, I hope this Mad as Hell cross stitch pattern will inspire us to demand action from ourselves and our elected officials. Anyone can talk about “what needs to happen” while it’s a precious few who will actually take action.
