This Bad Movie cross stitch pattern is now available in my shop!
This project is inspired by a line in Top Secret – the very funny movie by the same group of misfits who made Airplane! Top Secret features Val Kilmer as an Elvis-type singer who becomes involved with the Resistance while traveling and performing in East Germany. What didn’t really occur to me until years after I saw the film the first time is that it’s the French Resistance… in East Germany.

This movie has about as many quotable lines as Airplane! but for some reason it’s not quite as popular. It’s certainly not because of Val Kilmer who, in his first feature film, did a terrific job singing and dancing and hamming it up. His songs are a riot, and the lines in “German” are hilarious – a mix of German and Yiddish and full of nonsense.
The flowers in my version of this project were stitched with ThreadworX 1072, although nearly any colorful variegated flosses would work well.
